St Petersburg to Moscow

Train to Moscow 3rd class, but fine. Only one drunk thrown off! Loads of snowy fields all the way, but when we arrived in Moscow it was quite mild, about 4 degrees. Moscow much nicer than St Petersburg, although people we spoke to in the hostel said that St Petersburg was prettier and less smoggy, although we still cannot understand why! Had a weird trip into the suburbs to collect our trans siberian tickets, where school children were laughing at us! And we now know how to order 2 bananas from a kiosk in Russian. Chuckle! We even managed to post home paperwork about our travels, although it took half an hour because noone spoke a word of English, but everyone laughed.
Visited St Basils Cathedral which was outside the Kremlin citadel (we know things now). Completely different to what you see on the 9 0'clock news! Moscow good, but London prices on everything. Impressed with the metro, people helpful and stations are pretty (old school).

Hello Craig and Rachel. Glad to see you have made it in to the USSR. Looks like you are having a great time seing the sights out there, you're not missing much back home (apart from Cardiff knocking Boro out of the FA cup, no Wembley for us this year). Corus is just about surviving without Craig but we all miss his dribbling skills and shooting power on a Thursday night. Keep warm as you head East and be careful if you go to Tibet!
